Hokkaido, has won Best of Class in the Camembert
category (Class 31) at the World Championship
Cheese Contest (WCCC) 2026, one of the largest
and most prestigious cheese competitions in the world.

Competing against renowned producers from France—
the birthplace of Camembert—as well as strong contenders
from Canada, this small Japanese creamery achieved a remarkable victory.
It marks a historic moment, as a Japanese producer
reaches the top of this major category on the world stage.
